about industrial safety

The department of Industrial Safety engineering was established since the inception of the college in 2014. The department offers M.E (Industrial safety engineering). It is well built department with blending of experienced, well qualified and positive minded faculty members including a Ph.D. holder. The department is equipped with state of art laboratories and workshops and has been providing excellent learning, practical skills and discipline to the students. Safety is one of the key dimensions of engineering asset management. Safety by design or prevention through design is in the core for maintaining engineering systems safe. The objective of this course is to impart knowledge on different facets and aspects of engineering systems safety, focusing on tools, techniques and methodologies needed for prevention of occurrences of unsafe operations and accidents under different industrial settings. Upon completion of the course, the students will be equipped with concepts of engineering systems safety, dimensions of engineering systems safety, safety design and analysis mathematics, design for engineering systems safety and control for safety, and integrating safety with other operational goals such as quality and reliability. The students are highly motivated to participate in symposium, workshops and seminars. Industrial visits and guest lecturers are arranged for the students periodically to cater their in-depth knowledge in the subjects and to strengthen the Industry Institution fusion.

Objective
To provide world class post graduate engineering education in industrial safety engineering with specialized engineering training to meet the current and emerging needs of the industry .
To inculcate leadership qualities, entrepreneurial skills and professional standards in the prospective engineers to adopt professional and ethical responsibilities for the betterment of the society.
Salient Features
Is located in the Western Block laboratories in the ground floor and the computer lab with 36 terminals and one LCD projector in the first floor. The Dynamics and Measurement and Metrology Lab are adjacent to computer Laboratory.
Has the following laboratories : thermal Lab, CAD Lab, CAM Lab, Dynamics Lab, Metrology & Measurements Lab, Lathe Shop, FM Lab, Strength of material Lab , Engineering Practice Lab, Mechatronics Lab .
In CAD and CAM Lab latest Software’s like Auto CAD, Pro Engineering, Auto CAD, ANSYS, CATIA are used.
Has spacious class rooms and the tutorial room are in the second floor.
Has well-qualified faculty members both from academic and industry. They have specialized in different areas such as Welding, Design, Thermal, Manufacturing, etc. of the mechanical field.
Frequently conducting seminars covering latest developments and trends in the field of Mechanical engineering by inviting experts from academics and industry for enriching the knowledge of students. A fully equipped Seminar Hall having latest equipment like Over Head Projector is used for this purpose
Students are taken to education industrial visits in order to enhance their practical knowledge in the field of Mechanical Engineering
Provides opportunities for the students to learn fundamental and advanced technologies which will enhance the practical knowledge of the students such that they attain a strong professional background.
